In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that officially established it June 14 – tomorrow – as Flag Day. It commemorates the adoption of the United States flag, the “stars and stripes” , which happened that day by resolution of the Second Continental Congress in 1777.

As a kid in school, Flag Day was a big deal … as indeed it is a big deal for our country. Now, we barely recognize it and I wonder why.
